Prem seems humdrum but there are points to be won
Irish Daily Star
|April 19, 2025
AFTER such an exciting midweek of European action, the return to an all-but-decided Premier League feels rather humdrum.
Yes there is an interesting battle for Champions League spots, but at the top and bottom of the table there is not much excitement around.
Liverpool will basically clinch the title tomorrow when they go to Leicester and condemn the Foxes to relegationlet's hope at least that they can do it with a bit of style.
Leicester have been disappointing and have been pathetic in recent weeks.
Liverpool have wobbled and they are some way from the conversation about the best Premier League champions, but they are worthy winners.
When they attack with purpose they are a fine side to watch and against a Leicester side that knows their fate is sealed, they might let loose.
I will go with correct scores in this one of 4-2 and 5-2, which are on offer at 40-1 and 60-1 respectively. They should at least give you a run for your money.
Fulham's Champions League bid has run aground but the visit of Chelsea should see them raise their game.
The Blues are inconsistent and Fulham always play to a decent standard, so a draw in this one looks a fair prospect at 11-4.
There's a reasonable chance that Ipswich also go down tomorrow and the visit of Arsenal is unlikely to see them produce a rearguard action.
Arsenal probably need one more win to secure Champions League football via the Premier League route and I'll have a little fun bet at 25-1 on Ipswich leading at the break before the Gunners come back and win.
