Gorman, 74, gets suspended sentence over cannabis stash
A NURSING home resident has received a two-year suspended sentence for possessing a large quantity of cannabis, which he told gardai he was using to treat his gout.
Eugene Gorman, 74, of Weathertop, Delgany, Co Wicklow, was convicted of a charge of possession of drugs for sale and supply at his home on March 9, 2023, contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977.
Asitting of Wicklow Circuit Criminal Court heard the accused has been living in a nursing home in Kilcoole, Co Wicklow, since May.
