Host hits out over sacking for 'highly offensive racist term' Show reels after 2nd axing.. and celeb version may never air

MASTERCHEF star John Torode has panned the BBC after he was axed last night in a racism storm.

The Aussie chef, 59, claimed he had not been informed by the Beeb his contract would not be renewed - effectively firing him.

It comes a day after his shamed colleague Gregg Wallace, 60, also got the push after a damning report into his behaviour.

Torode met South London greengrocer Wallace in the 1990s when he began supplying his businesses.

The pair have been at the helm of MasterChef since 2005 it has been adapted in more than 60 countries and aired across at least 200 territories.

Torode said: "Although I haven't heard from anyone at the BBC, I am seeing and reading that I've been 'sacked' from MasterChef and I have no recollection of what I'm accused of.

"The enquiry could not even state the date of when I am meant to have said something wrong." Torode, who is married to former Celebrity MasterChef winner Lisa, 53, was axed after being accused of using an "extremely offensive racist term".

He was made an MBE in 2022 and also presents ITV's John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen with his spouse, which is expected to continue.
