Force slams garda death 'fake news'

'Misinformation obstructs inquiry'

GARDA chiefs have slammed those responsible for spreading what it described as “fake news” surrounding the death of officer Kevin Flatley.

The 49-year-old father of two died while conducting a speed checkpoint in Lanestown in North Co Dublin on Sunday afternoon.

The tragic father-of-two was struck by a motorcycle. The biker, a man in his 30s, was seriously injured and was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
