AFTER 16 years of drought, some blokes have discovered an Oasis of their own. In the cool waters of the tribute circuit, every singer has Liam's star power and every guitarist has Noel's talent. There are thought to be at least 40 Oasis tribute bands in the UK alone, with more belting out the foursome's hits in Ireland and beyond. AARON Clements had dreams of cracking the music industry, performing in a variety of bands in his youth.
But it wasn't until he was invited to “become” Liam Gallagher that he found major success. He never looked back (in anger) - and is still performing to thousands, more than 14 years later.
“If I look back on it now and reflect, it is quite weird from the outside,” Aaron says. “The crowds take it very, very seriously. I can't imagine any other tribute act that would get the wild crowds and reactions that Oasis tributes get - I'm quite lucky in that sense.”
When he's not stepping into the shoes of his idol, Aaron is a football and guitar teacher in Somerset, UK. It couldn't be further from the feeling of being on stage.
