THREE billion a year for a united Ireland - that's a lot of Titanic for us southerners, more catching yourself on than we've ever known.

And, for our friends in the north, it's three billion a year for a bus full of underwhelming international footballers.

Some context: Boffins - if we're still allowed to call them boffins these days - at two universities came up with that price tag.

I'm sure they put a lot of work into this - though it does appear like they may just have looked at rents on Daft and upped it a bit.

It's like Ireland is two studio apartments - studio being the fancy name for a place you can do the dishes after dinner from the comfort of your bed.
