Ethan hits new heights as 5ft genius

PLAYING Lorenz Hart was “one of the most complex asks" Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke has ever had.

One half of the musical duo Rodgers and Hart, he was famous for hits including Blue Moon - which the new movie is named after - as well as The Lady Is A Tramp and My Funny Valentine.

The 2025 Richard Linklater movie set in 1943 sees Lorenz, known as Larry to friends, confront his shattered confidence in a bar after the breakup of their 24-year partnership.

His former collaborator Richard Rodgers - played by Irish actor Andrew Scott - is celebrating the opening night of his hit musical Oklahoma! which has written with his new partner Oscar Hammerstein.

Larry is heard saying: “We work together for quarter of a century and the first show he writes with someone else is going to be the biggest hit he ever had. Am I bitter? Yes.”
