EMERY: BIG PRESSURE ON VILLA TO FINALLY GET CITY BREAK
Irish Daily Star
|April 22, 2025
UNAI EMERY has told his Aston Villa players: Get used to playing under the pressure of winning.
The Spaniard has laid it on the line for his squad as they look to overcome an awful record at Manchester City.
Emery ramped it up ahead of last weekend's game against Newcastle United.
And he repeated the message before tonight's trip to the Etihad, saying: "One objective I have here is to play matches feeling a bit of pressure.
"However, I feel it is something positive. To play under pressure is to play, needing to win, needing to perform to our best.
"I learnt to dominate it, to manage it, through my experience.
"Now my objective is to be the same as the players.
"When we were playing against PSG in the Champions League and the FA Cup at Preston, we spoke about it.
