Gyokeres relishing prospect of wearing Henry's iconic number
ARSENAL'S £60million striker Viktor Gyokeres has chosen to wear the iconic No.14 shirt, made famous by Thierry Henry, vowing not to wilt under the burden.
And Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is thrilled that his new man has the confidence to fill the jersey of a club legend.
Former Sporting Lisbon star Gyokeres said: “Of course, I know about the history but the shirt was available and it was an easy choice to take it.”
Not that the Sweden international is looking to be compared with Henry, arguably the greatest player to have graced the Premier League. “It's not really my intention to be compared with what he's achieved in his career,” Gyokeres (above) added. “Especially here.
“I just want to do my own thing and show my qualities.
“Of course, he was an amazing player but different from me. I just want to try to do my own thing.”
