BE A LEADER? ROGER THAT!

MORGAN ROGERS is ready to become a leader on and off the pitch as Aston Villa navigate an injury crisis in midfield.

- BY JOHN TOWNLEY

The onus on Villa's more established players has only increased after Youri Tielemans joined Boubacar Kamara and John McGinn on the sidelines with long-term injuries.

As a result, Rogers feels an even greater responsibility to step up.

And the 23-year-old did just that on Thursday night, scoring Villa's first goal (above) in a 3-2 Europa League win against RB Salzburg.

Ahead of tomorrow's visit of Brentford, Rogers said: "There are four injured players who are massive in our group and changing room, as characters and not just players.
