Mum slams hospital rehab delays for injured biker, 28

A TOP motorcycle racer who suffered horrific injuries in a crash on the Isle of Man is being denied proper rehabilitation at a Dublin hospital, his mother has claimed.

Mary O'Carroll said she fears for Anthony's long-term recovery if he does not receive adequate care at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Dun Laoghaire.

The 28-year-old mechanic from Bally-duff in Co Kerry sustained multiple and complex fractures as well as a brain injury in a crash during a race last July.

He was flown to hospital in Liverpool and was there for two months and then spent a further five months at Cork University Hospital.

His mother said she was delighted when Anthony got a place at the NRH in February but she maintains his treatment there has gone downhill.
