'WOMAN DIVED FROM CAR TO FLEE KIDNAP ATTEMPT'

A WOMAN jumped out of a moving vehicle and hid in a bush in a bid to escape a man who was trying to kidnap her and force her to take drugs, a court heard.

Tony Fusco, 41, of Central Promenade, Newcastle, Co Down, appeared in court after being charged with multiple offences, including kidnap, false imprisonment and common assault, following an incident that occurred in Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning. The court heard that the woman and a male friend had been walking along the Falls Road in Belfast at roughly 5am after a concert and had been trying to flag a taxi.
