Stormy September ahead as autumn arrives
MET Eireann is warning a stormy September is in store for Ireland after the island basked during August.
Weather conditions last month ‘swung dramatically from scorching conditions to a soggy couple of washout days marked by torrential rain, gusty winds and thunderstorms.
It comes as nine flights were diverted from Dublin Airport yesterday due to high winds, with a number of others delayed.
The airport's operator, daa, said eight were diverted to Shannon Airport and one to Birmingham Airport.
