Victim rushed to hospital after house torched

A MAN attacked his former partner with an axe before torching her house and fleeing the scene.
The horrifying incident took place at a house in Oaklawn West in Leixlip, Co Kildare, yesterday morning.
Gardai and firefighters raced to the scene shortly after 6am and extinguished the inferno.
After gaining entrance to the house, a woman in her 50s was discovered with serious injuries inside.
