39-yr-old quizzed after 'gentle wee soul' found dead with head wound

- BY NIALL DEENEY

TRIBUTES have poured in for a man who was found dead as police launched a murder investigation.

The male was yesterday named by police as Chrissy Burns, who was 40 years old and from Warrenpoint, Co Down.

The body of Mr Burns was discovered in the Cusher Green area of Mountnorris in Co Armagh.

Following a search involving a helicopter, a man in his 30s was arrested.

Police were called to the area at 11.30am on Thursday following reports of a concern for safety at a property in the area.

Upon arrival, officers said a man in his 40s was found dead at the scene with serious head and facial injuries.

A 39-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in police custody last night.

Tributes have poured in for Mr Burns, who was described as “a gentle wee soul” in one message of condolence online, and “such a kind person, taken far too soon” in another.
