'Time running out for Tyrone ace McKernan'

TYRONE defender Michael McKernan is “running out of time" to prove his fitness in time for Saturday's semifinal showdown with Kerry in Croke Park.

Speaking at yesterday's press event at Garvaghey, Tyrone coach Collie McCullagh gave a downbeat assessment of McKernan's chances of featuring against the Kingdom.

The Coalisland native suffered an AC shoulder joint injury in the opening minutes of the round-three win over Cavan last month and didn't feature in the quarterfinal victory over Dublin.

After that game, Malachy O'Rourke stressed that McKernan’s injury wasn't season-ending, but it seems as though this weekend's semifinal will come too soon.
