Three arrested in probe into missing man

GARDAI were questioning three people yesterday over the suspected murder of a man who disappeared more than six years ago.

The man and women were arrested yesterday morning as part of the probe into the murder of William Delaney, who disappeared in January 2019.

Although the remains of Mr Delaney, 56, have never been found, gardai are treating the case as murder.

Mr Delaney was last seen in Monasterevin in Co Kildare on January 30 of 2019 when he went to visit a relative there.

The relative was not at home when Mr Delaney called, but gardai say he was spotted outside the premises, which is on the Cork-Dublin Road directly opposite a focal landmark known as the Hazel Hotel.
