Storyteller spins yarns about day
Irish Daily Mirror
|August 19, 2025
A PROFESSIONAL storyteller hired by Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson for her wedding has told how the actress “wanted something to reflect her Irish heritage”.
Writer and historian Diarmuid O Drisceoil said his performance at her marriage to Scottish DJ Denis Sulta, 32, at Dromquinna Manor in Kerry involved traditional folklore revitalised with a contemporary spin.
He told this paper: “I did an hour on day two in the pavilion tent where they got married. With the atmosphere I felt quite at home. They seemed to be very pleased - Saoirse said afterwards that it was exactly what she wanted.”
