ARNE SAYS REDS HAPPY TO KEEP POWDER DRY IN TRANSFER MARKET

- BY PAUL GORST

LIVERPOOL boss Arne Slot insisted the Reds will “wait for the right moment" to add to their squad as he refused to rule out strengthening before this month's transfer window closes.

Season-ending injuries to Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley have led to some calls for Liverpool to bolster their defensive ranks (captain Virgil van Dijk, below).

But target Marc Guehi - who had a medical on deadline day in the summer before Crystal Palace pulled the plug on the £35million deal - is now off to Manchester City.

City have already signed Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, who was also linked with a move to the defending champions.

Instead, Liverpool's winter window activity so far has been at academy level, where they have brought in Senegal youth international Mor Talla Ndiaye from Amitie, and are closing in on a deal for Austrian teenager Ifeanyi Ndukwe.
