David Jason is back for special farewell to mark 50yrs of show

- BY MARK JEFFERIES

DAVID Jason is returning to play Granville for a final time in an Open All Hours TV special.

A 90-minute retrospective will celebrate one of Britain's most beloved sitcoms and include a new short scene, penned by original writer Roy Clarke.

The new U&GOLD special, Open All Hours: Inside Out, will offer a touching glimpse into how the shopkeeper's life has moved on since we last saw him, as Granville closes up at night.

David, 85, said: "It's so good to be back. This show holds a very special place in my heart.
