CONOR McGregor dramatically abandoned his presidential campaign yesterday, hours before he was set to face a grilling from female Dublin city councillors.

The UFC fighter announced yesterday morning that he will no longer be seeking support from local councils to get on the ballot.
In order to get on the ballot for the Aras, a candidate must have support from 20 members of the Oireachtas or four local councils.
It's understood that the Women's Committee in Dublin City Council planned on reading a joint statement against McGregor if he was to speak at its meeting with presidential hopefuls.
