AS Audi continues its mammoth product offensive, a new simplified naming and labelling strategy for PHEV models has been announced.

As part of the model initiative, Audi is expanding the variety of plugin hybrid models. The “TSFI e” name and badging for plug in hybrid models will now be known as “e-hybrid”.

This new naming will commence with the new Audi A5 e-hybrid, and will make Audi PHEV models instantly recognisable.

I had the pleasure of taking the Avant (estate) version of the new A5 e-hybrid for a week recently and as usual for the German luxury brand, the experience was high on quality as you'd expect from a premium product.

Built on the premium platform combustion setup, the new Audi A5 is now welcoming additional members to its family lineup.

MODELS

Alongside the pure combustion engine models, Audi is now offering two plugin hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models in two power levels for the A5 for the first time. The new generation of HV batteries boasts around 45% higher capacity.
