Phones' Galaxy of AI features

South Korean tech behemoth Samsung last night announced its widely predicted Galaxy S26 series of smartphones at a glitzy event in San Francisco.

The event took place just days ahead of the world’s largest annual smartphone trade show, MWC 26, which runs next week from March 2 to 5 in Barcelona, with companies such as Xiaomi, Honor and Nothing among those who will be showcasing new products.

Samsung has also pipped Apple to the post, as the Cupertino-based company is rumoured to be launching a stripped-back iPhone 17e handset in the coming days.

At first glance, the new flagship devices from Samsung offer more of the same quality and style that the Galaxy S series is renowned for. There was a heavy emphasis on the AI software in the presentation, which is the third year in succession that this has been the case.

Key features of the ultra-premium Galaxy S26 Ultra include the world’s first builtin Privacy Display and an upgraded thermal management system.
