My mother-in-law prefers dog over seeing her family

Dear Coleen My mother-in-law has a Pomeranian dog that's the love of her life. This dog is incredibly pampered and my mother-in-law never makes a decision without first considering how it'll affect the dog.

The problem is, this dog is very unfriendly and snappy. She's aggressive with strangers to the point where my mother-in-law needs to lock her away if anyone comes to the door.

My issue is that my four-year-old daughter was bitten by her recently. She bent down to stroke her and the dog bit her hand quite badly. She's never bitten her before, although she has snapped and growled.

Anyway, it's caused a massive argument in the family. I've told my husband were not visiting his mum again if the dog is loose and he completely agrees with me.
