KEVIN Thelwell has told new boss Danny Rohl that WINNING is the minimum requirement at Rangers. And the under-fire sporting director is adamant Russell Martin's successor can still deliver trophies this season.

Ex-Sheffield Wednesday gaffer Rohl was finally appointed Gers head coach last night, penning a deal until 2028.

The German will make a quickfire dugout debut when the Light Blues travel to Norway to face Brann on Thursday night.

And Thelwell is confident the crisis-hit Ibrox club have appointed the best man for the job - and to save their calamitous campaign.

He said: “Danny has the qualities required to succeed here, allied with being an exceptional coach.

“He has worked in some of the most demanding football environments in the world, where winning is the only expectation, and we believe that background has prepared him for Rangers.
