PAUDIE Moloney admitted he wasn’t surprised he ended up at the bottom of the leaderboard on the first week of Dancing With The Stars.

But the 68-year-old, the RTE dance show's oldest contestant ever, didn't let it get to him.

Paudie and pro partner Laura Nolan danced the cha cha cha to A Little Less Conversation by Elvis vs JXL as they closed the show.

They had a score of 13, but the judges still loved their performance, with gushing comments from Karen Byrne and Oti Mabuse.

Speaking to RSVP after his performance, Paudie said: "I was delighted with it. The scores didn't say that, but I did my best.

"To be honest, I hadn't any great expectations so I'm not that disappointed.
