Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland performs in his first panto in Christmas movie Tinsel Town, with co-stars Rebel Wilson, Danny Dyer and Sir Derek Jacobi

Kiefer Sutherland knew exactly what would impress the cast and crew of Tinsel Town when they were filming the Christmas movie in England earlier this year.

The actor and singer, who is best known for his role as tough guy Jack Bauer in the hit series 24, organised for a Greggs van to visit the set in Leeds, having learnt how popular the bakery chain is when he was previously touring the UK with his band.

"I have played my music here for the past 10 or 12 years, and the bands I would play with would be all Americans, and would not have seen a Greggs before, and they went mad for it," he says. "I could get people from the States to come on tour in Europe, so long as I would take them to a Greggs every day when we were in the UK, so it has become a favourite of mine. Greggs have been really nice to us, so when I found out they had a van, I wanted to do this for the crew, and I think I was cool for a second!"

Kiefer, who was born in London and raised in Canada and the US, stars in the family movie as self-absorbed Hollywood action star Brad Mac, who accepts a job doing theatre in the UK thinking it will be Shakespeare on the London stage - only to discover he has been booked to play Buttons in a Cinderella pantomime in the quaint town of Stoneford.

Contractually bound to stay, he finds himself working alongside no-nonsense choreographer Jill (Rebel Wilson), stagehand Albert (Derek Jacobi), enthusiastic actress Brenda (Maria Friedman) and panto director Cassandra (Meera Syal).
