Dad-of-four out of coma after vicious beating in park

A MAN who was placed in an induced coma after a brutal beating has woken up, his daughter has revealed.

Robert 'Speedy' Larkin was beaten to a pulp in Dublin's Fairview Park on October 22 and was initially rushed to Beaumont Hospital and treated in their ICU.

His daughter Leah Murray has revealed that her dad, who has since been moved across to the Mater Hospital, suffered extensive head injuries resulting in multiple brain bleeds and facial fractures in the vicious attack.

Medics placed Robert, who is a dad-of-four, into an induced coma to help his brain recover and Leah said he woke up last Monday but is extremely "confused" and can't walk.
