GRETA Streimikyte bottled up her triple Paralympics heartbreak to strike World Para Championships gold - and wouldn't have it any other way.

The journey has been everything for the 30-year-old who just missed out on the Paralympics podium in the last three Games.

Streimikyte finished fourth in Rio in 2016, fifth in Tokyo and then fourth again last year in Paris after an injury-hit buildup.

But all that heartbreak only made her more determined to succeed and she got her reward for bouncing back with a dominant victory in the Worlds T13 1500m final in New Delhi at the end of September.

“Oh yeah, I cry every time,” she laughed. “Paris was the one time when I actually cried the least because I was probably getting used to it at that point.
