GAA legends' call to cut ties with Allianz

A LOBBY group of GAA members representing pro-Palestine groupings have called on the association to sever ties with Championship sponsor Allianz Ireland.

The grouping have taken a stance against the Irish subsidiary of the German based global financial giant in the wake of a report last month from UN special rapporteur Francesa Albanese.

The report found that asset management firms, including one owned by Allianz, were significant buyers of Israeli treasury bonds.
