SIOG GEAL should thrive for the chance to tackle two and a half miles as she goes into handicaps for the BetVictor British EBF Mares' Novices’ Hurdle (3.15) at Newbury.
Successful in her only start in point-to-points before joining Fergal O'Brien (below), the daughter of Malinas twice finished second in bumpers - the latter at Listed level at Cheltenham last November - before going hurdling.
Siog Geal, whose name translates from the Gaelic as 'white fairy', marked her debut over timber with a beating of Surrey Belle at Catterick over Christmas.
