DOOLEY: I CHOSE RUGBY TO CHASE A PRO CAREER
Irish Daily Mirror
|June 04, 2025
THE LURE of a professional career as a sportsperson was something David Dooley decided to go after.
Laois hurling captain Dooley was in a Leinster rugby sub-academy and playing for Barnhall when he was at NUI Maynooth.
He played for Leinster at under-18 and under-19 level and then academy squads, and was part of Ireland under-20 camps.
When it didn't work out for him, the Rosenallis club man says it was "absolutely massive" to have the GAA option.
