Musk blasted in Dail as X announces Grok restrictions
ELON Musk was described as a “creepy little slimeball” in the Dail chamber - as there are fears users can easily circumvent new restrictions in place for AI tool Grok.
After intense pressure, X announced that users will no longer be able to edit photos of people to make them nude, or show them in bikinis or revealing clothing.
However, the statement said it will only be banned in “jurisdictions where it is illegal”.
Labour TD Alan Kelly, who is the chair of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Media, said the tools should not be allowed full stop, as people will be able to bypass them - using, for example, a VPN.
A VPN allows users to hide their IP address by routing it through a remote server, showing the device as being active in another country.
Yesterday, the Dail heard statements on AI, with Niamh Smyth, Minister of State with Responsibility for AI, saying she will meet with X representatives today over the Grok scandal.
