Coyle on Reds alert as Shelbourne ready for battle with Blues

SHELBOURNE skipper Mark Coyle has warned his teammates against letting their minds wander tonight.

- BY PAUL O'HEHIR

The Reds will qualify for the league phase of a European competition for the first time if they overcome familiar foes Linfield over two legs.

Striker Sean Boyd recently spelled out how important a European run can be for players, not just professionally but in their private lives too.

Boyd noted how getting through the rounds in Europe can help players secure a deposit for a house, based on the bonus structures in play.

But while all of that is true, Coyle is guarding against complacency tonight, with the Donegal man on red alert for the Blues threat.

"Obviously it would be huge for the club and us as players," said the midfielder.
