Campaign turns focus to violence on women

JUSTICE campaigner and survivor Natasha O'Brien has joined ActionAid Ireland in its call to people to stand in solidarity with the millions of women and girls who are victims of gender-based violence this Christmas.

Launching its Christmas campaign, ActionAid Ireland said while the festive season is meant to be one of joy, with a woman being killed every 10 minutes around the world, this Christmas will be about survival for millions, not celebration.

Ms O'Brien was speaking ahead of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women tomorrow and 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence.
