Brennan's anger at ban punishment

Jim McGuinness escaped punishment following his own pitch side flashpoint with Kerry's Diarmuid O'Connor in Killarney.

Burns insisted this week the two incidents were "different" because Brennan received a red card and referee reports must be treated as "sacrosanct".

Now Brennan has responded in explosive fashion through his solicitor, Conor Sally.

Sally said: "Mr Burns has now sought to infer that my client's infraction was 'different' in that he received a red card and has referred to the referee's report as 'sacrosanct'.

"My client considers the description of 'irrational' in respect of comparisons with his case and another incident in another game as insulting to those holding that widely held view."
