BHA KICK-START INQUIRY

THE BHA is examining what can be done to avoid a repeat of the false starts which disrupted the Cheltenham Festival occurring during the Grand National meeting at Aintree.

As many as ten riders received suspensions for misconduct at the start after several races failed to go off satisfactorily at the first attempt last week.

Leading figures such as Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary were critical of the process after the Ultima Handicap Chase required three attempts to get under way and the Queen Mother Champion Chase had a standing start.
