Banana republic of Lebanon have let Sean's killer off hook

THE Lebanese Government is literally letting Private Sean Rooney's killer get away with murder.

They had Hezbollah terrorist Mohammad Ayyad, the gunman who took the peacekeepr's life, in custody but then out of the blue released him on health grounds over a year ago, a move that was outrageous.

And guess what - surprise, surprise the brute who took our young soldier's life, vanished off the face of the earth.

The Beirut regime has no idea where the killer is and is pretending they are looking for him.

The smart money says he is hiding in Iran, the country that funds Hezbollah's terror campaign in the Middle East.

The disappearance of their son's murderer is very hard to take for Sean Rooney's heartbroken family and his Irish Army colleagues.

One minute a murderer is in jail, the next minute he is out. I smell a rat, if ever there was.

The Irish Government and the Department of Foreign Affairs have been played like idiots.
