Doomsday Clock to tick closer to midnight

THE Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists will reveal the 2026 setting of the Doomsday Clock, a symbolic gauge of humanity's proximity to global disaster.

The new time will be disclosed at 3pm on January 27 and will be broadcast on the Bulletin's YouTube channel.

In 2025, the Doomsday Clock was set at 89 seconds to midnight, marking the closest it has ever been in its 78-year history.
