ENGLAND star Levi Colwill has undergone ACL surgery after suffering a serious knee injury on the first day of preseason training.

Blues players returned to training on Monday just three weeks after their FIFA Club World Cup triumph in New Jersey on July 13.

Head coach Enzo Maresca yesterday revealed that Colwill suffered “a problem” in training and the club were awaiting a diagnosis. Results from a Wednesday scan came back yesterday and Colwill went under the knife immediately.
