The cogs started turning for Elliot Minchella 10 minutes after Hull KR had lost at Old Trafford.
With a head bandage covering his bloodied forehead and the anguish of another final defeat stirring in the pit of his stomach, the Robins captain took a momentary glance up.
When he did, he caught a glimpse of Wigan’s Liam Farrell lifting the Super League trophy. At that moment, the motivation for 2025 was in place.
"I remember standing with one of the directors like this and we just stood talking and looked up and it was just that moment," he explained.
