Amanda Holden and Alan Carr return to the Moclin home they renovated to entertain friends in a new festive special. YOLANTHE FAWEHINMI finds out more

AFTER Amanda Holden and Alan Carr set out to transform a derelict property in the historic Spanish village of Moclin earlier this year, the British TV presenters never expected to return so soon.
For a very special edition of Amanda and Alan's Spanish Job, the best friends return to their summer renovation project to host a festive party to thank the locals who helped bring it to life.
From baking seasonal treats to sampling local delicacies, BBC1's Amanda & Alan's Spanish Christmas follows the pair as they explore various Spanish Christmas traditions.
"We always wanted to revisit a build, and so we had the idea to go back at Christmas and do a special to thank everybody who helped us and see what the difference was between a British and a Spanish celebration of Christmas," says Amanda, 54, a judge on Britain's Got Talent.
BAFTA-winning comedian Alan, 49, who won the first series of The Celebrity Traitors last month, agrees and adds: "Also, after every renovation, our hearts always break and we say every time, oh, can't we buy it? Can we move in? We love the finished houses. So when we heard that we were going back to live in it and to celebrate and entertain in it, oh, we couldn't believe it."
"It was brilliant to see that the heating and the water worked and the oven worked and all of those things... And it's now an Airbnb, fully functioning," says Amanda.
Ahead of the show's release, the pair discuss their Christmas plans, favourite Spanish traditions and how different celebrating Christmas in Spain can be.
