|April 14, 2025
The US tanker involved in a collision while anchored off the East Yorkshire coast last month has docked at the Port of Great Yarmouth for inspection and temporary repairs.
-
Shortly before 10am on Monday, March 10, the Stena Immaculate was struck by the container ship Solong resulting in a major incident. It has now been towed into the Norfolk port, arriving on Friday afternoon escorted by a flotilla of five support vessels.
Marine Traffic, a ship-tracking website, revealed that the convoy included four tugboats and a fire-fighting ship.
Following the collision around 12 miles off the East Yorkshire coast, the Stena Immaculate has been subject to salvage operations.
The move to Great Yarmouth was preceded by a Coastguard announcement on Thursday confirming the successful unloading of the Stena Immaculate.
Crowley, the maritime firm overseeing the operation of the vessel, previously announced that “all remaining jet fuel was safely transferred to the tanker Fure Vyl”.
