A GRATEFUL dad-to-be has expressed his “deepest gratitude” for the “extraordinary care” his wife recently received at Hull Women and Children’s Hospital.

Asda home delivery driver Jeevaraja got in touch with Hull Live after his 21-weeks-pregnant wife Gopika needed emergency surgery to save their baby, the couple's first child.

He said he wanted to record his “heartfelt thanks to Hull hospital staff for their exceptional care”.

Jeevaraja, of Burton Pidsea, said his wife was now recovering at home and on bed rest, with things looking hopeful for the rest of her pregnancy.
