Not difficult to see why City struggle
Hull Daily Mail
|April 12, 2025
Hull City are 19th in the Championship after 41 games of what has been a tumultuous season both on the pitch and off it, and it could yet end in relegation back to League One.
City have five games to rescue what has been a pretty desperate campaign from the moment it began to the full-time whistle at Vicarage Road on Tuesday evening.
The post-mortem will have to wait until we know where City will finish. But without any question, there will be some home truths said at the end of the campaign, whatever the outcome.
For now, attention has to be solely focused on collecting enough points to ensure that conversation takes place with City looking forward, at the very least, to another season in the Championship.
Naturally, when a team wins only 11 games in a season, plenty of things go wrong. But for City, the biggest problem comes in front of the goal. Only Luton have scored less than the 40 the Tigers have managed. That blank in midweek means they're not even averaging a goal a game, which is fairly pitiful.
