HULL KR boss Willie Peters has confirmed that Rowan Milnes will depart the club at the end of the season, having recently linked up with the Robins on a short-term contract.

- By JOSH MCALLISTER

The 25-year-old rejoined the club earlier this month on loan, before his move was made permanent following his release from Castleford Tigers.

Milnes previously spent four seasons at Sewell Group Craven Park between 2020 and 2023, making 49 appearances, scoring seven tries and kicking 41 goals.

However, Peters revealed Milnes is set to depart at the end of his current deal, as he looks to secure a contract elsewhere in Super League.

He featured on loan at Salford last week alongside Rovers teammates Leon Ruan and Louix Gorman against Leigh Leopards.

"Rowan wants to get a contract for next year, and it's important he does," Peters said.

"Rowan knows that we can't have him on board next year, he's aware of that, so he's pretty much playing for a contract [elsewhere].
