Lawton will be a valuable addition to Rovers squad

Karl Lawton is set to don Hull KR's colours in the 2026 season after securing an early release from his NRL contract to join the reigning Super League champions.
The 30-year-old had been contracted with the North Queensland Cowboys for next season but became the Robins’ primary target following Kelepi Tanginoa’s move to Warrington Wolves.
Lawton arrives with 115 NRL games of experience and, perhaps more importantly, the versatility to play in multiple positions - a significant boost for Willie Peters’ squad.
While Bill Leyland is highly regarded at Sewell Group Craven Park, the 22-year-old is still developing in the top flight, and Lawton brings valuable depth and experience at hooker.
