HULL amateur boxer Abdul Qader pulled off an impressive second round stoppage to win gold in the Male Junior B class at the Ed Bilbey Box Cup.

Abdul, 15, who fought in the 50kg weight division, dominated his opponent, Tunbridge Wells-based Beau Sherwood, from the start after winning a unanimous decision in his semi-final bout against Harry Robinson, from Barnsley.

He was joined by three other boxers from St Paul's Boxing Academy to compete in the renowned competition named in honour of Ed Bilbey, who tragically died after a boxing match in 2017.
