Hardaker reflects on Hull FC's reset
Hull Daily Mail
|May 30, 2025
Zak Hardaker has revealed some detail behind Hull FC's post-Magic Weekend 'flogging!
The 33-year-old told the Mail after the defeat to Huddersfield that the squad would be in for a tough week of training.
In fact, with a week off leading into the Leeds Rhinos game, there were 'three gruelling days' of training played out, with the squad rediscovering habits and attitudes that saw them start the season so well.
By the accounts of players and head coach John Cartwright, Hull had fallen below those standards in recent games, with a reset button pressed.
That has seen Hull produce two much more acceptable performances since the loss in Newcastle, with discipline and completion at the centre of them, and while the result didn't come at Leeds, it did at Leigh, with Hull back on track with a satisfying win - the catalyst of which the veteran has now detailed.
"We lost our way a bit," Hardaker, speaking to the Mail ahead of tomorrow's clash against Catalans Dragons, said.
"We had a week off, but we came in, and we had three gruelling days. We got flogged.
