Harassment of whole groups is plain wrong

I AM responding to G Harrison's letter (October 1) about protests outside asylum hotels.

I welcome his or her agreement that intimidating asylum seekers is wrong. Targeting vulnerable people is not patriotism but cowardice.
The assault on a 14-year-old girl was monstrous, and I share sympathy for the victim and her family. But to exaggerate and give the impression that these hotels are full of people itching to rape our daughters is unfounded and dangerous.
Individual crimes must be dealt with, but harassment of whole groups is plain wrong.
